The Monaco tennis player, ranked 31 in the world, Valentin Vacherot, became the recipient of the ATP “Breakthrough of the Year” prize. He managed to beat Joao Fonseca, Jack Draper and Jakub Menshik in the race for this award.
The winner of the “Breakthrough of the Year” for 2025 was selected by 29 tennis players (both current and retired ones), all of whom have reached the ATP number one spot during their careers.
At the Masters tournament in Shanghai, China, Vacherot won his first ever ATP tour title. In the ATP-1000 event in Paris France he made it to the quarterfinals, where he lost to the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime.
As a reminder Vacherot began the 2025 season ranked outside the top 200 in the world.
