Barrios could cost Spurs around 70 million euros.
The London-based Tottenham might break their club transfer record to bring in Atletico midfielder Pablo Barrios.
As Goal reports, the Spurs’ management is seriously keen on the 22-year-old midfielder and prepared to open talks with the Madrid club. Barrios’ release clause stands at 120 million euros, though Tottenham is hoping to negotiate a deal for significantly lower — about 70 millions.
At the moment, the record purchase in the london club’s history is still Xavi Simons, paid 65 million euros for. If negotiations succeed, the Barrios transfer would surpass that figure.
In the current season, the Atletico midfielder has appeared in 22 matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist. According to Transfermarkt, the Spanish player’s market value is 65 million euros.
