Lecce’s “Jokers” duo pushed Pisa deep into the Serie A relegation zone

Lecce began round 15 of Serie A with a narrow but well deserved 1-0 win over Pisa — the game was actually turned by the subs who came onto the pitch.

Nikola Štulić and Lameck Banda, both introduced in second half, totally changed the match for Eusebio Di Francesco’s boys.

After a rather careful and quite dull first half, Lecce picked up pace and intensity exactly because of the fresh legs. The goal arrived at 72 minute: Banda sent a brilliant killer pass and Štulić smashed it home — 1:0.

Pisa, who dropped straight into the drop zone, didn’t manage to create anything dangerous and can “proudly” show zero shots on target, while Lecce just controlled things comfortably until the end.
