FIFA announced about launching a new serie of international tournaments for boys and girls under 15 years old, that will be organised like football festivals. This decision was taken at the FIFA Council meeting wich took place in Doha.
According to the press-service of the organisation, all 211 member associations of FIFA will be allowed to take part. That means russian players and teams will also have chance to compete, because Russian Football Union wasnt excluded from FIFA, they are just suspended from international matches since the full-scale invasion started in 2022.
The first tournament for boys in this new serie is planned for 2026, while girls competitions should start one year later — in 2027.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino, while commenting this idea, said that creating such tournaments is good example how organisation reinvests money into football development and important step to give every child opportunity to show their talent on international level.
