Kane’s thrilled with Bayern’s 17 year old phenom

The rise of young talent Lennart Karl at Bayern Munich has been one of the loudest stories in European football this 2025.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder who only joined the first team in summer, has already rewrote club history and got special praise from the team’s leader – Harry Kane.

Karl’s way to the squad was super fast. After amazing stats in the academy (27 goals in 18 games for the U-17), Vincent Kompany trusted the kid with a place in the seniors. Lennart didnt let down: in October he became Bayern’s youngest goalscorer in Champions League, hitting one against Brugge, and few days later he scored his first in Bundesliga too.

Bayern’s top scorer Harry Kane said that Karl is a key piece for breaking tough defenses.
“Lenny reminds me Jamal Musiala: hes so quick and technical he can beat a defender alone and open the game for the whole team,” Kane told in a Bundesliga interview.

Besides technical stuff, Kane praised the young guy’s hard work, saying he doesnt avoid dirty jobs without the ball and always learns from older teammates. The experienced Englishman also gave some tips to the young colleague, telling him to ignore sudden fame:
“It’s important to keep calm in triumphs and in lows. When your names everywhere, it’s easy to loose focus on basic things that brought you success” – said the striker.

Kane believes that Karl will become even stronger if he keeps the same work rate.
In this campaign Lennart played 19 games in all competitions, scored 6 goals and made 2 assists.
